Today we saw 6 temples. One being the Angkor Wat. Another was where a few shots in the Tomb Raider movie were filmed. Got lots of great pictures. Also have an idea for a gift for you. This one I think you’ll actually be pretty stoked on. Still dunno what to get Holly or Grandma and Grandpa… but I have time to get it all figured out.
Cambodia is amazing. Never thought it could be this beautiful. Kinda of a shame we are only here for another day and a half. Although we got to see all the big sights here… the Killing Fields, the Genocide Museum, Angkor Wat and a few other gnarly temples.
Next we’re onto Bangkok for a day or 2, then into Laos.And just want to make sure you guys have deposited my cheque into my account. The bank machines here all accept my card and i haven’t had to use my credit card at all, except to buy some dirt cheap tailor made clothes in Hoi An. It was between 50 and 60 dollars. So no other charges should be on it.
Well keep having fun over there and I’ll continue having a blast over here.

Here is an email I sent my parents…
Heya!
Sorry it took so long to write to you…I’ve been trying for the last 6 hours or so but someone’s been on the free internet at our hotel.
Flights went perfect (besides me freezing my inflight entertainment system about an hour into the 13 hour flight to Hong Kong). But the airport here was a bit nuts. We may as well have had a big target painted on us because we looked like deers in headlights. Everyone wanted to take us to “their” hotel and rip us off in the process. but it worked out fine. We took the minibus and saw a cow hanging out on the side of the highway, a cage full of chickens on the back of someone’s scooter, 2 ducks on the back of someone’s scooter, a family of 4 on one scooter… and we almost hit about 10 people and about 50 vehicles on the way into town. Rules dont really exist on roads here.
Got here yesterday at about noon… 10pm your time… and it was a bit of a gongshow getting to a place to stay. got ripped off by a few people and everything… still only managed to spend a bit over 15 dollars to get from the airport to the hostel we stayed at.
Today we met up with the group, had some beers (20 cents for a glass at one place on the side of the road), and food (less than 4 bucks for a nice noodle stirfry with beef and veggies and a big bottle of “Tiger beer”).
Tomorrow we head out for Halong bay in the morning. Should be fun. Hanging out at a secluded beach, chillin’ in a boat, having some drinks… Couldn’t get much better.
Time to go to bed. Have to be up at about 7am to get some breakfast, exchange some money, find a little day pack, then be ready to jump on the bus by 8:30.
When I get home, Look for my full journal to be posted here. Until then, it’s all just copies of emails.

Time for me to start packing as I head over to Victoria tonight and spend a week there before heaading overseas! Procrastination has definitely taken place… it’s 4pm and im still sitting around in my underwear playing on the internet.
[SinglePic not found]On the bright side, I got my podcasting software running again so there is a new mix up there! It was thrown together really quickly last night so I have something new to listen to on the road tonight. When I get back, I will make it much nicer sounding with less trainwrecks and such. Hopefully I’ll have some new turntables to play on, too. The ones I have now are way terrible.
I have decided to take down the mix because… well it was thrown together way too fast and it just sucked. When I get home, I’ll re-record it, and toss it back up.
Family picture time!

[SinglePic not found] It’s that time of year again. My parent’s anniversary. Each year, we take a family picture with everyone in attendance and it’s situated somewhere around the house that has some sort of significance for the year. When we bought a new car, we took it in front of the car. When the house flooded, to took it in the middle of a gutted room. This year we took it in the backyard which is going to be ripped apart and re-landscaped.
It was also the last night I’ll be in Alberta for quite some time. Tomorrow evening we set sail for Victoria for a week and then off to Vietnam on the 13th. Won’t be back till December 22nd.
I’ll be posting as many photos as possible while away. I’ll also try to keep a bit of a record of the things we see so I can update on here.

Today was a fun day…
I got to learn about all the diseases that could give us runny bum or potentially kill us while in South East Asia. It was all pretty cool, but lots to take in. Some of it was even damn scary… like some Japanese en-sifa-something or other that’ll make your brain swell… or the rabies which can be fatal. Naturally, the vaccines for the fatal ones are super expensive, while other ones that are much less life-threatening are relatively cheap.

Rabies… 3 shots x 220 bucks each = 660 bucks
or…
the best Malaria pill 5 bucks/day x 70+ days = ouch!
This is in comparison to the free Measles/Mumps/Rubidia vaccine I’m getting on Thursday, or the 91+76 to be safe from Hepatitis A for life. GAY!
So now I’m chillin’ with a super sore arm from the dam Hep A needle which is being really lame. I’ve never had a needle be sore for so long… but it’s been about 12 hours, and it still sucks.
In other news, the basement flooded again last week. So now all the underlay is being replaced in the morning, so the basement is completely gutted. All my junk’s been ripped apart and packed up while this goes on. I’m not pleased because I’d like to do some website work or play on my turntables tonight. But that’s not how things are gonna go down. Oh well. I get to set it all back up tomorrow when the carpet is finished. Be ready for a photo of the new setup.
So, to kill the rest of the night, I’m off to get some chips from 7-11 then watch No Country For Old Men, then random tv til I pass out.
