Well…

I visited Jordan in Victoria.

I got there on Wednesday morning. Completely lacking in sleep. We ate lunch from Fu Wah Express CafĂ©. I knew it would be good because the name of the place is part asian, part english and part french. We couldn’t go wrong. Lunch was followed by some sitting around and watching tv. Then I got to sit in on Jordan’s Forestry class and was really quite interested in it. Lots of cool facts I never knew. After this, we headed back to her place, ate some dinner, and sat around a bit more. Then I passed out nice and early due to being a zombie.

Thursday was pretty mellow. I forget what the middle of the day had in store for us. I think I just kept up on my zombie-ism and kept the day low-pro.

Then we drove home, got all cleaned up, then went to the Four Mile Pub for Jordan’s grandma’s birthday. We both ate way too much. Appetizer, mains, AND dessert. Good effort by us.

Then we drove home, mixed some drinks and waited a bit before heading back out again. We went to a place called the Canoe Club. It was a cool place. But it was SUPER packed in there because it was the start of the weekend for everyone. Everyone got split up and then the top floor was too full for us to get back in… so we hung out at the bottom bar until the end of the night (midnight) when people took off to either a house party, another bar, or home.

We were going to go to the other bar with people, but after waiting 30 minutes (literally) to go, we decided that the wait was taking too long. Instead we went to a place called HUSH and got to dance to a few electro djs. The first guy was good. The second guy was even better. The third guy killed it. So many dirty tracks.

The next night there was a drum and bass show. So to get everyone amped for that, another guy came in and threw down a hard 15-20 minute drum and bass set. It was amazing.

Friday started with a hangover. Not so much for me. More for Jordan. Booze wasn’t her friend this weekend. As soon as the problem was ejected and flushed, she started feeling great. i finished some breakfast then sat around for a bit and watched tv. Eventually we drove over to Sitting Lady Falls. We wandered around, looked at the falls, did a bit of walking around the trails, took some photos, hung out by the ocean for a bit, took more photos. It was cool.

I kinda forget what we did for food that night. Stupid brain. I’m sure it was good though.

Then we got all ready for the drum and bass show. Took the bus out there. Somehow we sat beside some people who were going to the same show as us. Pretty cool. They came up to us at the show and said hey.

Every DJ at that show slayed their set. Just amazing stuff. Started with some kinda mellow, soulful stuff, the next guy brought in some hardstep, and the last guy finished the night with some great jungle. The only times I stopped dancing was to get more beer, or take a breather.

I met a dude who tried picking up Jordan, then he realized she was with me, so to make me not mad (even though I wasn’t… I take that kinda thing as a compliment) he told me a sweet trick while in a bar. If the music is loud as shit, and people are yelling into your ear and you cant really hear anything but noise. Plug the ear they are yelling into… then it sounds like they are talking perfectly normally. Great tip!

Then throughout the night, we noticed 2 people messed on some E. Doing the whole lovely groping eachother… er… pretty much having sex with clothes on in the middle of the dance floor. It was pretty gross. I made sure to make faces at them at any possible chance. They didn’t stop. They got worse. The girl kept doing little ’seductive’ dances for the guy… kinda walking backards away from him… i dunno… But she kept walking into people. Not one, not twice, not even thrice… but well up into the double digits. She walked into me at least 5 times. It started getting pretty annoying. As luck would have it… I was flailing away, did a bit of a shoulder turn RIGHT as she walked into me. I ruined her face with a shoulder to it. Totally an accident too. The good thing was that I never saw her for the rest of the night.

Took a cab home, tried to grab some junkfood from the convenience store… but it was chained shut… but still open. We had to pay through a little slot and got our chips and drinks from a little trap door. Weirdest candy stop I’ve ever encountered.

Saturday was a day of hangovers and naps. And that’s about it. We went to White Spot for zoo sticks and legendary burgers. So good. So cheap. Then we had free passes to a movie. We saw Horton Hears A Who. It was really good. I recommend it!

Sunday was another sit around day. I didn’t sleep at all the night before. Insomnia is great for that. I was all tired and had no motivation for anything. Eventually we got up and went To Royal Roads University and looked around. Saw Hatley Castle. Its a really cool campus they’ve got. Backs onto the ocean. Poor guys. Probably get to study at the beach if they wanted. We headed back to grab my camera because there was a nice golden light and it was kinda warm. Nice conditions to take photos in. Then. Clouds. Wind. Rain. Hail. Rail. Snow. Rain… in that order. It took about 30 minutes. Weirdest turn in weather events I’ve seen in a long time.

Tacos were for dinner. I love tacos. Something about them makes my stomach really happy.

Then Jordan got a bladder infection. So we headed to the hospital to get it checked out and some pills for it. It was pretty quick (3 hours) but we got home at 12:30am and had to be up at 5 the next day.

Monday we were awake at the crack of stupid to make it to the airport. You know how travelling is. Boring. Nothing to report here.

Here are photos from the trip:
